Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated PHP / Laravel Developer (0 to 4 years experience) to join our development team in Patna. The role involves building web applications, APIs, and backend services while collaborating with front-end developers and designers. You will work on both new features and maintenance/enhancements of existing systems.squadchamp.com

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical tasks.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications using PHP and the Laravel framework.
• Create robust RESTful APIs and integrate with front-end modules.
• Work with relational databases (such as MySQL, PostgreSQL) — write efficient queries, define schema designs, and optimize performance.
• Participate in code reviews, peer reviews, and ensure code quality, maintainability, and reusability.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and fix issues in development, staging, and production environments.
• Ensure security best practices (input validation, sanitization, authentication, authorization) in all modules.
• Write unit tests and integration tests to ensure reliability.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications; assist with setting up deployment pipelines or CI/CD workflows.
• Keep up with new PHP, Laravel, and web development trends, tools, and frameworks, and recommend improvements to the stack or process.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience (0 to 4 years) in PHP development, particularly using Laravel framework.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts, MVC architecture, design patterns.
• Strong command over MySQL or other relational databases, writing optimized SQL queries and database schema design.
• Experience in building RESTful APIs, JSON serialization/deserialization, and integrating with front end clients.
• Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git.
• Basic knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to collaborate effectively with front-end developers.
• Ability to write clean, modular, and maintainable code.
• Good problem solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred / Plus

• Experience with Laravel packages, middleware, events, queues, job scheduling, and service containers.
• Experience with testing frameworks (PHPUnit, Pest, etc.).
• Prior exposure to REST APIs, GraphQL, or microservices.
• Experience with version control branching strategies, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, etc.
• Exposure to front-end frameworks (Vue.js, React, Angular) is a bonus.
