Job Overview

As a Search Engine Evaluator (Internet Evaluator) with Centific, you will work remotely to assess and rate online content, user queries, maps data, ads, and more. Your goal is to determine whether results meet user intent, are relevant, accurate, and high quality. You will help refine search algorithms, localization, and map-based services by providing human judgments on real data.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, your day-to-day tasks include:

  • Evaluate search queries made by internet users: judge how well the results satisfy the user’s intent.
  • Analyze map / geolocation data: check if points of interest, routes, place names, and landmarks are accurate and relevant.
  • Assess the relevance, quality, and accuracy of web content, advertisements, local business listings, and other search results.
  • Follow detailed evaluation guidelines and scoring rules to ensure consistency.
  • Take certification or qualification assessments before being onboarded to active tasks.
  • Work within weekly or monthly KPIs (key performance indicators) — for example, number of tasks, accuracy thresholds, or review quotas.
  • Maintain confidentiality and data security for all materials you work with.
  • Submit evaluations, prompt corrections or clarifications when needed, and incorporate feedback from project leads.

This work supports mapping / search engine platforms in producing more accurate, intuitive, and locally relevant results.


What You Bring to the Role

To succeed as a Search Engine Evaluator, here are the essential skills and qualifications:

Mandatory / Required:

  • Native or fluent proficiency in English (writing, reading, comprehension), since all guidelines and documentation are in English.
  • Strong familiarity with local culture, geography, colloquialisms, businesses, and points of interest in India — especially the region you will be evaluating.
  • You must be based in India, and ideally have lived there for several years to have contextual understanding.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a computer or laptop setup suitable for remote work.
  • Availability of at least 20 hours per week, though schedules are generally flexible (you may choose when you work).
  • Willingness to pass entry-level certification / qualification tests as part of the onboarding process.

Preferred / Advantageous:

  • Good time management skills and discipline working remotely.

Work Terms, Compensation & Duration

  • This is predominantly a remote / work-from-home engagement.
  • The role is part-time / contractual / freelance in nature; there is no fixed 9–5 schedule.
  • Flexible scheduling: you decide your working hours, so long as you meet the minimum weekly commitment (e.g. ≥ 20 hours) and any KPIs.
